Paramount+ Planning ‘iCarly’ Revival, Brings Back Original Casts

Here is some news that most of iCarly’s fans will definitely be excited about, and that is, the series is coming back! It is said that the streaming service Paramount+ (currently known as CBS All Access) has ordered a revival of the wildly successful Nickelodeon sitcom, all set to return with original stars Miranda Cosgrove (Carly), Jerry Trainor (Spencer), and Nathan Kress (Freddie).

To generate the update, Jay Kogen (School of Rock, The Simpsons, Frasier) and Ali Schouten (Diary of a Potential President, Champions, Merry Happy Whatever) signed on.

The original iCarly series, produced by Dan Schneider and broadcast from 2007-2012 on Nickelodeon, was followed by a group of best friends producing a webcast while dealing with daily problems and adventures.

CBS All Access is expected to be rebranded as Paramount+ in early 2021, as previously stated. The new channel would merge the original programming with MTV, Comedy Central, BET, Paramount Network, and Nickelodeon shows from CBS and cable outlets.

“Paramount is an iconic and historic brand that consumers around the world love and is synonymous with quality, integrity, and world-class storytelling,” said Bob Bakish, President and CEO, in a statement at the time.

“With Paramount+, we are excited to create one global streaming brand in the broad-pay segment that will draw on the sheer breadth and depth of the ViacomCBS portfolio to provide everyone with an exceptional collection of content.”
