(Video) Mick Schumacher Brings His Family Legacy Back To Formula 1

About 20 years ago, his father often took Mick Schumacher to the Formula 1 races he participated in. Now after reaching the age of 21, the son of legendary Michael Schumacher will continue his family’s legacy in the world’s leading car race.

Schumacher’s family name is no stranger to the F1 stage with Michael having previously been a seven-time world champion before retiring in 2012. In addition to Michael, Mick’s uncle, Ralf also once colored the F1 arena.

Now after his father and uncle, Mick will compete in F1 after it was announced that he will represent the Haas team starting next year. He will be teaming up with another young rider Nikita Mazipin from Russia. Not only sharing his family name with his father and uncle, but Mick is also a rising rider at the moment.

“I’m very pleased that we’re able to confirm Mick Schumacher in our driver line-up for next season and I look forward to welcoming him into the team,” said Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner.

One of the riders under the Ferrari academy, Mick, who is currently competing in Formula 2, has already recorded two wins and ten podiums.

In fact, he is currently leading the world championship position for the category with a 14-point difference over his competitors with only one race left.

In Formula 1, his father Michael had previously recorded 91 wins while his uncle Ralf won six of the 180 races he participated in.
