Monopoly Releases Brand New “Lunar New Year Edition” Set

Recently, Monopoly has released a new edition set for its famous board games and it really suits the theme of the month really well. The company releases a brand new “Lunar New Year Edition” set and this game is absolutely the perfect game that can be played with friends or even families during the quarantine. The packaging of it is so amazing.

The packaging of it comes in a vibrant yet beautiful red and also gold theme. The usual hat, ship, dog, and other tokens you find in the original Monopoly set have been replaced as well. They were replaced with the “gold” Lunar New Year versions and the tokens are in the form of golden tangerines, a lion head, a bull, a firecracker, a gold ingot, and also a lantern.

Not just the design and the tokens got some improvement, the rules of the game also would be a little bit different. In this Lunar New Year version, instead of buying properties, players buy shops, collect gifts, and find a good fortune to win.

Some of the places on the board game are the places where you can buy things such as a jade shop, a flower market, and also a firecracker shop. The more shops you own, the more money you can earn from your opponents buying gifts from your shops. Other than that, this game also includes “Fortune Stick” cards that could be so relatable.

To make it looks even real, the set even comes with a packet of ang pows that are red in color envelopes where you can store your tokens, cards, or money. The only same thing with the original board game is it still using paper money.
