Recently, there has been a common question about the Comirnaty vaccine that has been spread in Malaysia. Comirnaty vaccine is a particular COVID-19 vaccine developed by BioNTech in cooperation with Pfizer.
It is both the first COVID-19 vaccine to be authorized by a stringent regulatory authority for emergency use and the first cleared for regular use. It is usually given by intramuscular injection.
Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) has posted on its social media platform to address about the issue that many people have been worrying about the Comirnaty Vaccine. One of the major question that being asked is whether the Comirnaty vaccine could change someone’s DNA or even genetic.

“Comirnaty Vaccine cannot change someone’s DNA or even genetic because mRNA do not enter the nucleus inside the cell and would not react with the DNA,” MOH stated.
MOH also answered the question that whether Comirnaty Vaccine can cause COVID-19 disease or not with the explanation, “Comirnaty Vaccine does not use SARS-CoV-2 that is still alive. Because of that, the vaccine would not cause COVID-19”.
