PDRM Kedah Contingent Officers Summoned For Violating Traffic Laws Such As Using ‘Fancy’ Number Plates

Recently, The Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department and also the Standard Integrity and Compliance Department and Special Branch of Kedah IPK has conducted a spot check at the entrance of the Kedah Contingent Police Headquarters on the 15th of March 2021. This has to lead a group of police officers there to get summoned as they were committing traffic offenses.

The authorities there have done multiple inspections including the examination of private documents, vehicle inspection, and also safety pass inspection. Many vehicle owners there including officers, members, and also a staff of the PDRM Contingent force in Kedah were given a summons.

The reason that these PDRM Kedah Contingent officers have been summoned is that them violating some of the traffic laws such as their registration number are not according to specifications stated or better known as using the ‘fancy’ number plates.

According to a statement, owners of fancy vehicle numbers can be prosecuted under Section 14(4) of the Road Transport Act 1987, Rule 6(1) LN173/69, and Section 108(3)(F) 1987.
