A Japanese billionaire, Yusaku Maezawa, offers the opportunity for eight lucky individuals to follow the expedition to the moon.
The fashion tycoon was previously announced as the first man to book a place in SpaceX’s Starship rocket in 2008. Maezawa has already made an undisclosed payment for the mission and it is expected to be launched in 2023.
On Wednesday, through a video on Youtube, the 45-year-old revealed the application process for those interested in joining his mission.
“I’m inviting you to join me on this mission. Eight of you from all around the world,” Maezawa said in the video.
It is said that his project, called dearMoon, will now fly from 10 to 12 people in all.
“It will be 10 to 12 people in all, but I will be inviting 8 people to come along on the ride.
“I have also bought all the seats, so it will be a private jet,” he said.
According to Maezawa, the dearMoon mission will take three days to fly to the moon, loop behind it in orbit, and then spend three days returning.
“This mission we expect people will go further than any human has ever gone from planet Earth,” said Elon Musk.
