(Video) Did You Know? This Are The World’s Most Expensive Honey

A particular Turkish company has recently set an impressive Guinness World Record for the world’s most expensive honey with a cave-harvested variety priced at way more than RM20000.00 per pound collected. According to the Guinness World Records, ‘Centauri Honey’ which is harvested from a cave more than 8,000 feet above sea level makes it the most expensive honey in the world. The honey is proven to be so amazing because it has healing properties as well as a delicious taste.

The honey is dark in color and is said to have a bitter flavor. It is prized for its medicinal value, being high in magnesium, potassium, phenols, flavonoids, and antioxidants. Centauri said the honey can only be harvested once a year, as opposed to two to three times a year for most commercial honey, to ensure the bees that make the nectar are not disturbed.

The company said samples of the honey are sent after their got harvested to the Turkish Scientific Council/Food Institute to verify its quality. Centauri Honey has followed specific rules when it comes to looking after their bees to ensure the best quality, which is very different from conventional methods.

Because of that, it makes the honey even harder to produce, especially since the bees are based at high altitudes.
