The Future of Honey 2026 – Premiere Launch of Certified Stingless Bee Honey Malaysia Marks a New Era for Stingless Bee Honey with the World’s First International Certification Framework

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 July 2026 – For centuries, honey has been recognised as one of nature’s most valued foods. Yet despite the growing global interest in Stingless Bee Honey, the industry has long faced a significant challenge – the absence of a universally recognised definition, quality standard and international certification framework. This has limited industry development, undermined consumer confidence and created barriers to international trade.

To address these challenges and advance the global standardisation of Stingless Bee Honey, Stingless Bee Factor Pte. Ltd. (SBF) today hosted The Future of Honey 2026 – Premiere Launch of Certified Stingless Bee Honey at Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur South.  The event marked the official unveiling of the world’s first international certification framework for Stingless Bee Honey, alongside the presentation of significant scientific research findings, representing a major milestone in the global development of the Stingless Bee Honey industry.

More than a product launch, The Future of Honey 2026 serves as an international platform that brings together scientific research, industry standards, agricultural innovation and future health technologies. It represents an important step towards positioning Stingless Bee Honey as a premium functional honey with internationally recognised quality standards and scientific credibility.

International Scientific Validation Strengthens Product Credibility

Beyond introducing the international certification framework, The Future of Honey 2026 – Premiere Launch of Certified Stingless Bee Honey also showcases a series of scientific research findings that further demonstrate the health potential of Stingless Bee Honey.

Researchers from the Glycaemic Index Research Unit (GIRU) at Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore, have scientifically validated that SBH Certified Stingless Bee Honey possesses a Low Glycaemic Index (Low GI), making it among the first Stingless Bee Honey products in the world to receive scientific validation for this characteristic. The findings provide valuable scientific evidence for consumers seeking healthier dietary choices and improved blood sugar management.

In addition, research conducted by the School of Applied Science at Temasek Polytechnic has demonstrated the natural antibacterial and antioxidant properties of Stingless Bee Honey, reinforcing its potential for future applications in functional foods and nutraceuticals.

Together, these scientific achievements not only strengthen the international credibility of Stingless Bee Honey, but also open new opportunities for its future development in healthcare, nutrition and wellness.

From Natural Honey to the Future of Nutraceuticals

As consumers worldwide place increasing emphasis on healthier lifestyles and scientifically validated natural products, the honey industry is evolving beyond traditional food applications towards the rapidly growing nutraceutical sector.

With more than 19 years of beekeeping experience, Javier Lau, Founder of Stingless Bee Factor Pte. Ltd., has long envisioned redefining the global positioning of Stingless Bee Honey. Over the past decade, he has worked closely with leading international scientists and research institutions to establish an internationally recognised quality framework and industry standards, with the aim of transforming this unique tropical natural resource into a premium product trusted by global markets.

Looking ahead, Stingless Bee Honey has the potential to extend beyond its role as a natural food into a wide range of health-related applications, including health management, nutritional supplementation, post-operative recovery and future healthcare solutions, creating new opportunities within the global nutraceutical and wellness industries.

Malaysia Positioned to Lead the Global Stingless Bee Honey Industry

Malaysia is uniquely positioned to lead the future development of the Stingless Bee Honey industry, with its rich tropical rainforest biodiversity, diverse stingless bee species and well established beekeeping ecosystem.

As the international certification framework continues to take shape, it is expected to enhance the value of Malaysia’s stingless bee industry by strengthening consumer confidence, improving market transparency and creating new opportunities across agriculture, scientific research, exports and the health and wellness sectors.

The decision to stage the global premiere of The Future of Honey 2026 – Premiere Launch of Certified Stingless Bee Honey in Malaysia also underscores the country’s strategic role and long-term potential as a global hub for the Stingless Bee Honey industry.

Empowering Communities Through the BeeAble Project

Beyond industry development, Stingless Bee Factor is committed to creating meaningful social impact.

The company has partnered with GroupHome, a community-based vocational training centre in Bentong, Pahang, that provides residential care and employment training for young people with special needs, to launch the BeeAble Project.

Designed as a sustainable community initiative, the project equips participants with practical stingless bee beekeeping skills. As beekeeping is relatively straightforward and can be replicated with proper training, it offers an accessible livelihood opportunity for underserved communities.

Under the programme, Stingless Bee Factor provides training, technical guidance and ongoing support, while also managing the processing, packaging and marketing of the honey. This enables participants to generate a sustainable source of income while developing valuable vocational skills.

During the launch, Dr Andrew Tan, Founder of GroupHome, shared the positive outcomes and social impact achieved through the BeeAble Project.

In addition, Founder Javier Lau announced that the company will co-produce the anti-scam film Rescue Mission with History Maker as part of its commitment to creating greater social impact. The film is currently in production and is expected to be released by the end of the year.
