(Video) John Wick’s Director Is Set To Adapt ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ Into Movie

PlayStation 4 hit Ghost of Tsushima will go into the big screen with John Wick director Chad Stahelski at the helm.  The game stars samurai warrior, Jin Sakai as he fights a huge Mongol army to protect the island of Tsushima. Classix samurai films from Akira Kurosawa inspired the story of Jin. From there, and the cinematic looks from the game, the transition to the big screen looks smooth.

“We are happy to partner with Sony Pictures to make this happen,” Nate Fox, game director at Sucker Punch, said in a statement on the PlayStation blog. “And Jin is in very good hands with the film’s director. Chad Stahelski created something special with John Wick. His vision for what could be, backed up by years of experience, combined to create some of the finest action scenes ever created. If anyone could bring to life the razor-sharp tension of Jin’s katana combat, it’s Chad Stahelski.”

“To think that we could sit in the theater someday watching Jin Sakai up on the big screen is amazing. We’d all relive his tense transformation into the Ghost from a whole new vantage point.” Fox added.

Since last July, Playstations sold 6.5 million copies of Ghost of Tsushima. Reviews dubbed it as ‘one of the most beautiful games’ of the decade.
