A particular Malaysian-Belgian mixed-blood player will officially be wearing the Malayan Tigers squad jersey when he is announced as the 26th player to join the national team camp in Dubai today. The confirmation of the Football Club Midtjylands defender to join Tan Cheng Hoe’s team was confirmed by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) through a formal announcement.
According to Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin who is the President of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), the presence of Dion Cools will add value to further strengthen the Malayan Tigers, especially in facing three tough matches against the UAE, Vietnam, and Thailand.
The Facebook post stated, “Alhamdulillah, Malaysia-Belgium mixed-blood player, Dion Cools was with the team in Dubai, UAE, today and was officially announced as the 26th player in the Malayan Tigers squad. This follows after all the documentation processes at the FIFA and AFC levels, especially regarding his qualification status, registration and others have been completed”.
They also added, “With his presence, it will be able to add value and strengthen the Malayan Tigers team. My hope to all Malaysians, especially the loyal supporters of Harimau Malaya, pray for our team to have success. Amen”.
