Facts On Guilherme De Paula, Malaysia’s Third Naturalized Footballer

Guilherme de Paula who was born on the 9th of November 1986 is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Malaysia Super League side Johor Darul Ta’zim. Born in Brazil, he represents the Malaysia national team. Born in Brodósqui, he was considered as the best replacement in Selangor for Paulo Rangel who left the club for Terengganu FC. In December 2019 De Paula has agreed to join Perak FC for Malaysia Super League 2020 season.

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) then has confirmed that Perak FC striker Guilherme De Paula is now officially the country’s third naturalized player. Recently, the name of Guilherme De Paula got a lot of attention from the netizens right after the match between Malaysia and also UAE on the 4th of June 2021.   1. De Paula is listed as a successful Soccer Player who was born in the year of 1986.
  2. He is also ranked in the richest person list from Brazil.
  3. His first name is “Guilherme” and his last name is “de Paula Lucrecio”.
  4. De Paula himself obtained Malaysian citizenship because he had lived for five years in a row in Malaysia.
  5. In his inaugural season, 2015, he successfully won the Malaysia Cup trophy and then moved to the Cyprus League.
  6. De Paula is also the record holder for the Malaysian Super League’s top scorer with 21 goals. He surpassed the record previously held by veteran striker Indra Putra Mahayuddin.
  7. De Paula became Malaysia’s third naturalized player. The first two names that preceded him in obtaining Malaysian citizenship were Mohamadou Sumareh and Liridon Krasniqi.
