Reasons On Why The ‘Kamehameha’ Remains Goku’s Signature Move

The Kamehameha is actually the very first energy attack shown in the Dragon Ball series. It is the most widely used finishing attack in the Dragon Ball series and is also Goku’s signature technique. It is formed when cupped hands are drawn to the user’s side and ki is concentrated into a single point which is between their cupped hands. The hands are then thrust forward to shoot out streaming and also a very powerful beam of energy.

No other attack brings with it the legacy and weight of the Kamehameha while still being relevant to the modern era. It is one Goku has used and altered throughout the history of Dragon Ball, from the start of the saga to its later ends. The Kamehameha Wave has grown with Goku.

Kamehameha was mastered originally by Master Roshi, but soon Goku and also almost every other core hero learned how to use the technique through observation and brief training.

For those who want to know, these are the reasons why the Kamehameha is so iconic:

  1. Goku once stacks the Kamehameha‘s power with the Kaio-Ken, proving that the attack’s power could improve not only with the strength of the user but also with other techniques.
  2. The raw might of the Kamehameha, along with its memorable but simple charge-up, makes it easily one of Goku’s most iconic moves.
  3. Kamehameha is responsible for taking down several adversaries throughout Dragon Ball.
  4. Among the villains defeated by the Kamehameha are Broly, Baby, Cooler, and Kefla, but the most iconic use is when Gohan beat Cell during the finale of the Cell Saga.
  5. Kamehameha also represents Goku’s legacy.

Through each new transformation or form, Kamehameha remains fascinating as when Master Roshi used it to remove mountains and moons back at the beginning of the series. It’s not Goku’s only weapon to fight his enemies, but it’s a move we’ll remember the most in the anime world.
