Movie Review: The Return of Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies, ‘Black Widow’

After Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Cinematic Universe is back with the ‘Black Widow’ movie, starring Scarlett Johansson. This American superhero film was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Other than the main character, the 24th film in the MCU also stars Florence Pugh, David Harbour, William Hurt, and more. The movie takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War where Romanoff was on the run and forced to face a conspiracy tied to her past.

The movie was just released 4 days before and it has been rated 7/10 on IMDb and 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. One of the critics, Melanie McFarland from salon.com said,

“In all the ways that matter to an MCU fan, Black Widow the film meets or exceeds all expectations. It is a killer action flick, and a unique viewing experience… in that I loved it, and the fact that I loved it also makes me livid.”

What ‘Black Widow’ Is About:

Throughout Avenger movies, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow has always been haunted by her past that no one really knows of. In this movie, her history unfolds and she is to confront the darker parts of her ledger. A dangerous conspiracy that relates to her past arises and Natasha must deal with it.

What Can Be Said About ‘Black Widow’:

MCU has taken too much time to feature Black Widow in her own movie. It was only premiered after 24 MCU films where Natasha has already save Hawkeye and sacrificed her own life.

Even so, the long wait is worth it when Black Widow satisfies in every way that matters. The action was astounding and the gripping character development carried the plot. With a hint of smart humor every here and there combines with Florence Pugh’s resolute delivery and playful composure, this movie is the best thing MCU can offer as a reward of honor for Scarlett Johansson’s hero.
