(Video) Alert With This! Shopee Mention New Scammers Occurred Through Their Platform

Keeping every customer and also seller accounts safe would be Shopee’s top priority nowadays. This is because more and more scams have occurred through the platform and it has affected so many people in this whole wide world. Shopee has been definitely doing its best to ensure that everyone’s account is completely secure there.

Unfortunately, there are also some new and also old scammers that have come out with a lot of new tactics to trick Shopee’s customers so that they could cheat their money. This problem has been addressed by Shopee itself. Shopee has mentioned and warned everyone about the new scammers that occurred through their platform. These are the tactics.

According to Shopee, this new Parcel Scam would appear in your message chatbox. The scammer would try to claim that you have unclaimed packages or have won a prize from Shopee, then a fake link will follow up for you like a trap. If you do click on the link trap, the scammer would say the “parcel” couldn’t proceed because of unpaid shipping fees or goods with unpaid tax.

2) Fake Seller Central Scam

Scammers may use scam techniques to trick you into making transactions outside of the Shopee platform. Protect yourself from scams by following these tips:

  • Carry out transactions and chats only via Shopee.
  • Do not use or accept alternative payment methods, requested especially by those claiming to be from overseas.
  • Verify that payment is confirmed before shipping your products

3) Private Message Scam

Some of the intentions of the scammer would be to gain access to customer’s accounts by stealing their own sensitive information such as passwords and credit card information. SMS may have the following characteristics:

  • Requests personal information such as your credit card number.
  • Contains unsolicited attachments.
  • Contains a forged link.
  • Urges you to act quickly.
  • Uses a generic greeting such as “Dear User”.
  • Is unprofessional, contains spelling mistakes and bad grammar
