(Video) No Sewing Machine Needed! This Is How To Make Your T-Shirt Fit

Everyone in this whole wide world must have usually been buying t-shirts for them to wear especially men. Once in a while, the t-shirt that we buy would have different sizing than the one that we usually wear even though the size that is stated on the t-shirt is the one that we usually. The size could be bigger or even smaller than what we usually wear.

If the size of the t-shirt is too big, you do not have to be worried too much because there is actually a way for you to tailor that t-shirt on your own. Amazingly, you do not need to use any sewing machine to do this. The steps are also very easy to be done. Before you start tailoring the t-shirt, there are several things that you might need to have for it.

Things that you need to tailor t-shirt:

  1. Sewing needle.
  2. Thread.
  3. Sewing pins.
  4. Safety pins.
  5. Fabric pencil.
  6. Ruler.
  7. Scissors.
  8. Iron.

Step 1: Measure And Pin

Figure out how much fabric you wanted to take in. The perfect method to do it would be to take one of your t-shirt that fits you perfectly well and use it as a template. Turn your t-shirt that you want to tailor inside out and lay it on a flat surface. Put your template t-shirt on top then mark along the edges with your fabric pencil. Once done marking, put the sewing pins in to hold the fabric in place. If you do not have a perfectly fitted t-shirt to use as a template, measure the sizing that is good for you manually and mark it.

Step 2: Let’s Sew

Use some thread and make sure to double thread the needle for maximum strength when you want to sew. Start sewing the waist and sleeve first before tackling the hem. After done sewing everything, cut off the excess fabric from the t-shirt leaving a bit of fabric.
