These are the different types of love portrayed in the Dead Poets Society movie:

1) Philia

This is an example of love that does not involve any romantic attraction between the people involved. For those who might not know, this type of love could even occur to you because it is actually between friends or even your beloved family members. It does not involve romance because they have the same point of view to really respect each other.

2) Pragma

Love like this is often a unique one. Have you ever felt that you hate someone or something before but as time passes by, the feeling of mature love kind of grows in you? This is the exact term for it. It also does not involve the feeling of true romantic love because this type of love is indeed a convenient type of love.

3) Eros

Eros is the type of love that many people would think about every time that they heard the term love. This love does involve the romantic feeling between people. It is also easily known as romantic love. Back in the ancient days and also according to the Greek philosophy, this type of love is actually a concept that refers to sensual or passionate love.

4) Mania

This type of love could be so dangerous and also degrading to oneself because it is obsessive love. Some people just need to calm down and could not force love to happen. It should be a natural understanding and mutual feeling between people. Mania type of love could make the people involved hard to move on if it does not work out.

5) Storge

Storge is a type of love that could be seen as the purest type of love. This is because the feeling for this type of love happens between the parents and also their own children. This might be the strongest love that could ever exist in this whole wide world. Other than that, it could also be the love between childhood best friends.
