Borzo, a global delivery service that enables same-day intracity delivery, is knuckling down on its operations in Malaysia, with expansion plans in all major cities in the country by year end.
“We are truly committed in making Borzo the market leader in B2B on-demand delivery here in Malaysia. Since entering the market in 2018, we have created trust among our customers and enabled businesses of various sizes to go online and deliver their products to their customers’ doorsteps,” said Lingesh Thayala, Country Manager of Borzo Malaysia.
Borzo also aims to consistently create jobs among Malaysians, with a goal to create up to 100,000 job opportunities as it aims to widen its footprint in the country.
Borzo is now in 10 cities in Malaysia, including the Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Ipoh.
According to Lingesh, Borzo Malaysia saw its deliveries tripled year-on-year in 2021. This year, the on-demand player is looking at diversifying its offerings to cater to the needs of businesses which are looking to bounce back as the economy recovers.
Based on data compiled by Borzo in Malaysia, the needs of its existing client base have seen a shift. The businesses that Borzo serves need reliable same-day delivery services to cater to the demands of consumers.
Hence, Borzo will soon provide same-day delivery at prices similar to next-day delivery service. This would enable their existing as well as new clients to fulfil orders at a speedier, but lower rate.
“On top of plans to provide attractive same-day delivery cost structure for businesses, we have also started working with businesses to provide a dedicated rider service at their location for them on a daily basis. So for example, businesses that have high volumes of parcels or documents to be delivered daily would partner with us for this dedicated service,” added Lingesh.
According to Lingesh, Borzo is looking to grow this segment of the business in 2022.
“We are constantly thinking of ways to offer value to our customers across different industries, regardless of size and scale. Hence, our main focus this year is to strengthen and streamline our operations in order to provide top-notch offerings at value to our customers,” said Lingesh.
Borzo’s client base here in Malaysia consists of businesses from various sectors and industries. Top sectors include food and beverage (F&B), floral, grocery, bakery, and community pharmacy.
The company has operations in 10 countries including Brazil, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, and Turkey, among others. Borzo has 3 million active customers, 75% of which are small and medium-sized businesses.
