Money Heist Korea First Teaser Revealed, Giving Cool Korean Favor

There is news going around social media about Money Heist Korea. It is an adaptation of the original series. Apparently, the planning turned out to be happening because Netflix has released its official teaser trailer today.

With the title of Money Heist: Korea-Joint Economic Area, the crime drama television series will feature many great Korean actors such as Yoo Ji-tae, Kim Yunjin, Jung Jong-seo and Park Hae-soo.

Of course, many are looking forward to how the character of The Professor will be played by Yoo Ji-tae, Tokyo played by Jung Jong-seo, and Berlin performed by Park Hae-soo who is famous for the popular Netflix show Squid Game.

The crime series is directed by Kim Hong-sun, a director known for several popular dramas such as ‘Son: The Guest’, ‘Voice’, and ‘Black’.

Ryu Yong-jae and his team was responsible to write the series. The series will produce by BH Entertainment and Zium Content. It will premiere starting June 24, 2022 on Netflix.

Based on the original story of Money Heist, the Korean version follows the storyline and characters of the original series. The Professor (Yoo Ji-tae), a strategist criminal mastermind plan to pull off a heist in Korea. The operation involves strategists and desperados with different characteristics and abilities, who have to face unusual situations.

Uniquely according to writer Ryu Yong-jae, the series is not just based on the conflict between the police and the robbers. Interestingly, it also adds new layers such as the tension, mistrust, and harmony between North and South Korea.

Using Different Mask

Not just that, the masks in the series feature the Hahoe mask. Which is, it is part of South Korean traditional ceremonial attire. It was used instead of the mask from the original Money Heist series (Salvador Dalí mask).

“It is a situation where thieves from North and South Korea join forces, and police from North and South join hands to stop their way,” he said.

Before this, news of the re-production series Money Heist Korea received a positive response. Especially from fans of the ‘Money Heist’ series. Most of them are quite excited about the news and can’t wait to see how the storyline of it.
