Monkey Attacks In Yamaguchi, Japan Is Getting Worse And Dangerous

Monkey attacks happening in Yamaguchi, Japan have become a severe issue. The attack started on the 8th of July 2022 and can be seen getting worse daily. Right now, the number of people that got hurt from the attack is around 50 people. Very dangerous!

According to multiple reports, children and adults got severely affected by it. All the monkeys attempt to sneak into the nurseries, kidnap babies, and even try to claw and bite through the flesh of the humans. Luckily, actions have been taken to help and try to solve the issues of the brutal monkey attacks. The highly-needed actions are indeed taken by the Yamaguchi city hall themselves.

The recent action taken by them would be hiring a special unit. Their sole work is to hunt the animals using tranquilizer guns. In fact, this is another alternative used as their initial action setting a trap does not work. These monkeys are not attracted to food, so a trap is not helpful at all. Looking at the previous attacks so far, the monkeys purposely targetted children and also the elderly.

Monkey Attacks In Yamaguchi

Masato Saito who is the city official stated, “They are so smart, and they tend to sneak up and attack from behind, often grabbing at your legs”. Listening to the statement, fear is surely the first thing that comes to mind because the monkeys do attack so hard.

Mentioned in CTV News website, there are few things that you can do to protect yourself. Use the methods when you are attacked.

  1. Do not look directly to their eyes
  2. You have to make yourself look big and you can do it by spreading open your coat
  3. Go back as quietly as possible with no sudden moves

Even though the attacks have been going on for quite a while in Yamaguchi, there are still no exact reasons that could be used to justify them. Even Masato Saito said, “I have never seen anything like this my entire life”. Hopefully, the attacks will stop soon.
