Meet A 19-Year-Old Artist Who Draws Bizarre Realistic Pencil Portraits

A 19-year-old artist named Mayor Olajide from Nigeria has caught people’s attention with his hyperrealistic art. His arts look so realistic as they look like real persons instead of drawings.

Apparently, he has been drawing since he was only 5 years old. In addition to that, when he was 15, he was already selling his art pieces and taking commissions from others in order to help with his family’s budget.

Now, he can be regarded as one of the most outstanding hyperrealists in the world.

Mayor Olajide states that he dedicates his free time to his art. He enjoys drawing whenever he’s not busy with his college or study. For your information, he is an architectural student at The Polytechnic in Ibadan, Nigeria.

However, he doesn’t involve in hyperrealistic arts early. His interest in hyperrealistic arts only developed when a fellow Nigerian artist, Arinze Stanley started making headlines in the art world.

He was driven to try it after seeing the amount of realism Stanley was able to accomplish just by using only a pencil.

He also stated that he takes a few hours just to complete one of his large-scale portraits, but some of his detailed works could take him almost over 150 hours in order to finish.
