EasyParcel Signs MOU With iStore iSend To Expand The Capabilities Of Micro Sellers Through e-Fulfilment Solutions

EasyParcel, an online booking platform for parcel deliveries, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with iStore iSend, an end-to-end e-fulfillment solution, and Warehousing-as-a-Service (WaaS) provider, allowing the two parties to share its knowledge and resources that will enable them to better serve their customers.

With the MoU that was officially signed today, EasyParcel will introduce its network of micro businesses and SME online sellers to a specially curated package of affordable, technological, and innovative e-fulfillment services provided by iStore iSend that will handle the transportation arrangements, logistics management, as well as the supply chain and storage for the sellers’ inventory.

A recent McKinsey analysis (2022) revealed that logistics costs currently represent 12 to 20% of e-commerce revenues. With current economic trends, logistics costs may increase to 15 to 25% of e-commerce revenues soon. Besides, according to EKN Research, 18 percent of every dollar gained through online sales goes toward fulfillment costs. It is no surprise, then, that smaller businesses encounter difficulties scaling up their business, with the rising costs of both logistics and fulfillment services. Hence, the partnership between EasyParcel and iStore iSend came in a timely manner, able to elevate the woes of micro sellers and social sellers.

Through this collaboration, a few options of packages are available to choose from, whereby each package will include inbound, pick & pack, and delivery services bound together. As part of the conditions, this service is only available in West Malaysia, with a total SKU count of 8 per account signed under EasyParcel. More information on the packages is as below:

“This collaboration is crucial, as the vast technical and technological offerings available at iStore iSend will allow Malaysian micro sellers to scale their businesses faster, which will be further complemented by the ability to choose from their preferred delivery partners. By taking away a huge weight off their shoulders, business owners can focus on what is really important: managing and growing the business,” said Clarence Leong, Founder & CEO of EasyParcel.

“As it is, most of the micro sellers in the country are managing their businesses from scratch without much help when it comes to handling the inventory. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of them are storing their stocks in their own homes. This includes sellers like stockists, self-made clothing items, personalized jewelry, and the like. Those are exactly the people that we want to reach out to with this collaboration and help them grow their business without the worry of running out of space or having to hire additional workforce,” said co-founder and CEO of iStore iSend, Joe Khoo.

EasyParcel is a platform that allows customers to choose between its preferred couriers under one platform, providing easy and fast delivery service with participating brands such as Pgeon, Poslaju, Skynet, DHL, Aramex, Teleport, Janio, Qxpress, and J&T Express.

Meanwhile, iStore iSend is a holistic end-to-end e-fulfillment company that provides  Warehousing-as-a-Service (WaaS) offerings comprising all aspects of e-commerce under its proprietary system (ODiN), including order management systems, warehouse management systems, and transport management systems.

The company is a pioneer in warehousing and logistical services and also provides digital consultancy services to help businesses automate their e-commerce needs.

In an effort to further elaborate on the benefits of adopting e-fulfillment solutions among micro businesses, a panel discussion was held after the MoU signing ceremony, which featured credible speakers within the logistics, e-fulfillment, and SME industry, including Clarence Leong, Joe Khoo, and Noor Amy Ismail, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Malaysia Venture Capital Management Berhad (MAVCAP), who shared their insights on the growing topic of how micro-businesses could scale their business through proper utilization of e-commerce and logistics services.
