Failure Providing Cat With Food, Singapore Man Is Charged

Due to his failure not providing his pet cat with food and drink, a man in Singapore has been charged. Initially, he was charged in August, but his trial was amended to Wednesday.

According to the report, he left the cat at a flat in Sembawang. He left the cat starved to death without giving it the basic needs it needed. The man pleaded guilty after causing pain to the cat, which caused it to die from December 25, 200 to February 2, 2020.

However, the man asked the jury for an adjournment to raise funds as his wife just gave birth three weeks ago. Furthermore, he also mentioned that he had an appointment with the Housing Board, or his home would be repossessed.

At first, the jury did not want to give him an adjournment. However, when she asked him if he would be able to raise the funds, she accepted his pleading.

With that, the jury granted him an adjournment and he will be pleaded guilty this December. Due to his failure, he will be charged S$15,000, or jailed for up to 18 months.

To every pet owner, make sure to not miss giving your pet its basic needs like food, drink, and shelter.
