Hamadaya And Inside Scoop Introduce Caramel Soy Sauce Ice Cream

Hamadaya, a Halal-certified premium Japanese sauce brand is collaborating with local artisanal ice cream brand, Inside Scoop to bring customers a truly unique, limited edition soy sauce-flavoured ice cream, in conjunction with Soy Sauce Day which falls on October 1st, 2022.

Being a limited edition flavour that is released to celebrate Soy Sauce Day, the Soy-Desuka ice cream will only be available for one month, starting from October 1st – 31st, 2022.

After Hamadaya penetrated the Malaysian market in mid-2021, the brand has made its presence by offering a range of premium halal oysters and soy sauce to the local market which is available at most supermarkets nationwide as well as on Shopee and Lazada.

For this limited edition collaboration,  the Hamadaya Japanese Seasoning Soy Sauce is used as the main ingredient. Through rigorous research and development, countless trial-and-error sessions within 6 months to make the most pleasingly unique flavour out of soy sauce, Inside Scoop has successfully created the perfect formula for the Halal-certified Caramel Soy Sauce Ice Cream without any artificial flavourings or preservatives.

“Based on the feedback that we received from the customers over the years in the industry, we believed that a collaboration like this would strike the interest of both Hamadaya’s and Inside Scoop’s customers. Moreover, with the Japanese culture being well-received and adopted in Malaysian society, it was about time an innovation such as this came into the market,” said Lili Ho, Vice President of Marketing at Hamadaya/Heritage Foods.

Resonating the same sentiment, Edmund Tan, Co-Founder of Inside Scoop commented: “As a homegrown brand that prides itself on creating various other artisan flavours in the past, we are always open to exploring new flavours that we think would entice our customers. We constantly try to push boundaries with our creations and satisfy the curiosity and taste buds of our customers at the same time.”

Moving forward, both Hamadaya and Inside Scoop hope that this collaboration would inspire other local brands to leverage each other in further elevating the local economic scene as we transition towards the new normal, yet again.

“Hamadaya is planning to launch more new and exciting products by the end of this year. Therefore, we are equally excited and grateful for the opportunity to experience venturing into slightly different products than what we usually do such as this,” added Lili Ho.
