Renew Your Passport Online? Here An Easy Guide On How To Do It

Nowadays, everything can be done online! From shopping, watching movies, and even to renew your passport online. Imigresen Malaysia shares on Twitter how to do so. With the intention to #MakeItEasy, all you have to do is browse to MyOnlinePasport.

MyOnlinePasport is a method for all Malaysians to renew their passports online. Interestingly, the applicants are free to choose which office they want to collect their passports from on the listed offices on the website. The date and time of the passport collection are decided by the system on the day of the application.

To apply for a passport online, an applicant must follow the rules and regulations that have been implemented by the system. What are the rules? 

Rules and regulations

1) Applicant should be at least 13 years old and own an e-passport.

2) Applicant should only fill in the right facts on the system.

3) Malaysians below 18 years old should have their parents’ permission to renew their passports. On the day of the passport collection, a legal parent must be present with the child.

4) Upload a new passport photo

5) Applicant must collect the passport themselves. Please bring your identification card, current passport, and payment receipt.

6) Do not have any crimes outside of the country

7) Applicant can not get back their money if there are any mistakes or errors while applying

How the applicant’s photo should look when applying

1) First, the background of the photo should be white. Other colors than white are not permissible. 

2) Secondly, the applicant’s attire must be in dark colors and cover the shoulders and chest. 

3) For women who wear hijab, the hijab should also be a dark color, and should not be covering the face. 

4) Fourthly, no accessories on the head (hat, spectacles, etc)

5) Finally, submit your photo in a soft copy form. No polaroid pictures!

The payment for the passport can be made through a credit or debit card. Easy, right? It is only RM200. For applicants aged 60 and above, the price is RM 100.
