There has been a warning by Meta recently and it has been an important issue talked about by a lot of people recently. That is none other than the case in which passwords for a lot of Facebook users have been stolen. It is indeed stolen by malware apps.
For those who might not know, the malware has been spreading across various different kinds of apps. As stated in the Forbes website, the malware would also include the mobile games, virtual private networks, fake photo editors, and also so many others.
Warning By Meta
Meta’s director of threat disruption that is known as David Agranovich said, “Most of the apps asked for a Facebook log-in to use the app, which is typical of many apps. While the apps took the user through a real Facebook log-in, in the background the usernames and passwords, along with any two-factor authentication codes, could be hijacked by the app developers, who were looking for illegal access to Facebook accounts and nothing more”. Reading it all, it could be very dangerous for a lot of people.
To prevent that from happening frequently to the users, David Agranovich has suggested to always be vigilant for apps that need the users to log in to their Facebook page for any access of the apps. That action is actually such a suspicious for users to do.
