Not only that, the film will introduce other characters such as Hawkman, Atom Smasher, and the return Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
DC fans are surely excited about the film releasing this week. There are even rumors of Henry Cavill’s Superman returning pumping fans up even more.
But for us normal moviegoers out of the DC’s scoop, surely has no idea who the antihero is. No worries, let’s take a look at 5 interesting facts before he hits cinemas in Malaysia.
1. He activates his powers just like Shazam
Billy Batson (Shazam) gets his powers from a wizard. He is imbued with the wisdom of Soloman (S), the strength of Hercules (H), the stamina of Atlas (A), the power of Zeus (Z), the courage of Achilles(A), and the speed of Mercury(M).
When he shouts Shazam, all those powers flow through him.
On the other hand, Black Adam gets his powers from Ancient Egyptian mythology. For him, the magic word Shazam stands for the stamina of Shu, the swiftness of Heru, the strength of Amon, the wisdom of Zehuti, the power of Aton, and the courage of Mehen.
2. Black Adam is a son of a pharaoh
Black Adam’s origins came from Ancient Egypt. His father was the Egyptian King Ramses II.
Pharaoh Ramses II, often known as “Ramses The Great,” is noted for building cities and monuments, hosting numerous festivals, establishing a new capital, and expanding Egypt’s territory.
3. He is the enemy of Shazam
Black Adam and Shazam are not friendly with each other. Each of them has different ideologies and different alignments. Black Adam originally was a slave, with he believing that his divine gift gave him divine purpose.
On the other hand, Shazam is only a kid that is naive and is privileged with his superior powers.
4. He is as strong as Superman
In the comics, Black Adam and Superman have gone toe-to-toe with each other on multiple occasions. Each time they fight, he comes out totally unfazed.
Not only that, he even managed to make the Man of Steel go on the defensive. He is definitely something to watch when the movie comes out soon!
5. Black Adam is weak in magic
Yes, that’s right, he is weak to magic. His powers are magic-based so anything magical can harm him, even though it won’t be easy.
There are many times in the comic that shows his powers taken by other wizards and heroes.
