Indonesian Soldier Suffers Broken Bone After Parachute Failed To Inflate

Merdeka reported that a member of the Indonesian National Armed Forces from the Rapid Action Force Command had an incident when the parachute he was using failed to inflate and sent him free-falling into the air.

The video circulating on Instagram shows one of the soldiers failed to inflate his parachute when carrying out a tactical jump at the Sulaiman Air Base, on Tuesday (8th November 2022).

The incident occurred when all the parachutists were about to jump in the third sorter. The unfortunate soldier jumped from the plane then his parachute failed to inflate.

The soldier failed to inflate his parachute from a high place, resulting in him having to land in dangerous conditions.

In that situation, he tried to land with the failed parachute. Arriving on the ground, he then fell with his buttocks hitting the ground.

According to various sources, the soldier freefallen from a height of 1,600 feet or nearly 500 meters. The incident occurred while he and other members were conducting a tactical drop drill in Bandung, West Java.

After the incident, the Wingdik 800/Pasgat health team immediately provided assistance and took him to the Sulaiman Airbase Post 4 Hospital.

The provisional diagnosis showed that the soldier had a right hip fracture and was referred to the Salamun Hospital.

Currently, he is still undergoing treatment at the Salamun Air Force Hospital, Bandung.
