Almost everyday we hear of an accident happening on the road or highways. It is without doubt that Malaysia’s highway can be very dangerous.
We often see road works or contractors working on the roads and highways. If a road user is not careful enough with the signs that they place, it can lead to accidents occurring.
However, Facebook user Ahmad Shahir Arif recently posted a video of him driving on the highway when he suddenly came across highway contractors doing some work. What shocking about the video is that the highway contractors did not put any cones or signs to warn oncoming cars.
In the video, you can clearly see that there was not any signs or cones to warn any vehicles. Warning lights on the contractors’ vehicles were very dim, making it difficult to see in broad daylight. This adds to another level of danger to others.
Luckily, Ahmad Shahir Arif managed to changed lanes before anything could happen. He recorded what had happened on his dashcam and posted the footage on the DashCam Owners Malaysia Facebook page.
Facebook users’ comments
The video that he posted received many comments from other road users. Many commented that they have been in the same situation, whilst others criticized the highway workers.
“Don’t even put a cone. Real danger to other drivers,” one Facebook user commented.

“It’s actually dangerous, There should put at least there’s a sign and a cone and then people are alert,” commented another.

Without any signs and cones, it can be deadly for road users. Recently, a family of 3 were killed after hitting a lorry on the right-hand side of the road. According to BERNAMA, the lorry was about to fix the road divider and was about to put cones before the accident happen.
This shows how important it is for cones and signs to be place before work is done.
