No Mask Or PCR Test Needed To Attend World Cup

Good news for Football fans traveling for the World Cup! You will be glad to hear that you will no longer need to do a PCR test to enter Qatar.

A statement from the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) of Qatar announced the easing of Covid-19-related restrictions. The easing of restrictions has already commenced.

“Visitors are no longer required to present a negative Covid-19 PCR or Rapid Antigen Test result before travelling to Qatar,” they said in their statement.

They also added that Citizens from Qatar and residents also no longer needed to take a PCR test or rapid antigen test when returning from abroad.

The MoPH further stated that entry into Qatar is no longer subject to a Covid vaccination certificate. Moreover, there is no longer a requirement for tourists to preregister before their arrival on the government’s Ehteraz health application.

Only when tourists need to use Qatar’s medical services do they need to have a green health status on Ehteraz.

Medical director of Hamad General Hospital, Yousef al-Maslamani, stated “Those infected with COVID-19 will be isolated for a total of 10 days at home or in the hotel for travellers in two parts.”

“Five days of complete hotel isolation and five days after which we will allow the infected to leave.”

Qatar and FIFA said that they want the World Cup to be a sign of the deadly pandemic ending. However, they will also take special measures if there is any emergence of a new variant threat.

Furthermore, masks would not be mandatory to wear inside the 8 World Cup stadiums.
