Toho Announce New Godzilla Film Releases In 2023

Toho celebrated “Godzilla Day” with an announcement of their next live-action Godzilla film. The film will release in 2023.

Currently, there are no information on the new film except for the release date. The film will release on the next Godzilla Day which is on the 3rd November, 2023.

This will be Toho’s first Godzilla live-action since the 2016’s Shin Godzilla. Toho released the first Godzilla movie in November 3, 1954. Since then, Toho has released 32 Godzilla movie, with the 2023 film being its 33rd film.

Overall, there are 37 Godzilla movie, including the 2023 film. TOHO lent out the rights to Legendary Pictures to make their own films on Godzilla.

With the release of Godzilla in 2014, Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse has been more productive than Toho in the previous decade. 2019 saw the release of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 2021 saw Godzilla vs. Kong with a sequel releasing in 2024.

A number of spin-offs have been published or in plans, with Kong: Skull Island (2017) serving as the catalyst for Godzilla’s rivalry with the gigantic ape.
