A Woman Accidently Transferred Her Money To The Wrong Bank Account, But Receiver Denied Allegation

A woman in Singapore accidentally transferred her money, S$2,888 (RM9455.40) to the wrong bank account. The 54-year-old woman revealed that she normally transfers her salary to her other account for fear of overspending it. Now, she is working on getting back her money.

According to Mothership, the woman revealed that she did not switch on the lights when she was keying the bank details. That day was still dark, as it was 7 in the morning. After she realized she had mistakenly transferred S$2,888 (RM9455.40) to someone’s account, she told her son about it.

The woman has done everything to get her money back, including contacting the bank. However, the bank said it would take a while to process her case and to contact the other party.

Days after that, her friend successfully tracked who the account belonged to. It was a flower shop where she bought a wreath, 2 years earlier.

Shockingly, the flower shop denied the allegation.

“I sent her (the flower shop owner) a screenshot of the bank transfer, but the person merely read my messages without replying. I tried calling them again, but this time my call couldn’t get through.”

The bank has issued a letter to the flower shop, but the flower shop still has not replied. According to a lawyer in Singapore, it is considered theft if the money is not returned to the right owner.

What a nightmare for this woman.
