Last night, Gempak Most Wanted Award, which recognizes Malaysian digital content was held. Fans get to vote for their favourite celebrities, influencers, and more for them to receive the award based on nine categories.
Out of the nine categories, the girl group DOLLA won big as they successfully grabbed two! They won ‘Video Muzik Tergempak’ and ‘Lagu Trending Tergempak.’
DOLLA is relatively new in the entertainment industry. Thus, last night’s awards were a big achievement for them. Also thanks to the fans for their endless support.
Let’s get to know the members a little better.
DOLLA consists of four members, Sabronzo, Tabby, Angel, and Syasya. All of them are from Kuala Lumpur, except for Angel, who comes from Sarawak. All of them auditioned for Universal Music Malaysia in 2019. They only got to know each other after becoming a group.
Their debut song was Dolla Make You Wanna. Then, they released Impikan. They are two versions of Impikan, which are in Malay and English, with the title, Watch Me Glow.
After receiving wider audiences with their songs, they began to release more catchy songs. Along the way, they also have fans of their own, iDollas.
DOLLA does not only catch the attention of Malaysians. In 2021, they have been featured on the Times Square Billboard in New York!
