Memorandum Of Understanding Signings In Relation With The 1st Asia Smart Farming & Food Security 2023

ABS Greentech (ABSG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with My Events International, on a joint collaboration of organizing the highly anticipated Asia Smart Farming & Food Security 2023 (ASF’23) this year. They took this opportunity of being present by participating in Kind Malaysia which is held on the 2nd – 3rd March 2023 at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

ABS Greentech took this opportunity to provide the best solution through technology and integrated resources for the development of smart farming, especially in the theory and practice of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to farmers, land owners, and youths. In line with their goal to increase the adoption of pesticide-free farming in Malaysia, ABS Greentech, in collaboration with PS Food & Beverage, has launched the first lowland IPM proof-of-concept farm in Malaysia. It is known as the Kalumpang Smart IPM Agroecology Farm (K- SIAF) and is a showcase farm for innovative pesticide-free farming approaches and technologies, which has garnered national exposure and government recognition.

In conjunction with this event, ABS Greentech had the advantage to sign Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with five (5) companies leading to the inaugural Asia Smart Farming & Food Security 2023 (ASF’23), which will be held on the 3rd – 4th of October 2023 at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Memorandum of Understanding between ABS Greentech & Asia e University Malaysia was signed by Mr. R.M. Ravichandar, Group Chief Executive Officer of ABS Greentech, and YBhg Assoc. Prof. Dr. Frank Anak Kiong, Head of Operation of Speed Training Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Asia e Learning Sdn. Bhd., and witnessed by YBhg. Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat, Chairman, Advisory Board of ABS Greentech Sdn Bhd. It was a collaboration between ABSG and AeU to launch three certification programs nationwide, called “Certified IPM Practitioner”, “Certified IPM Farmer” and “Certified IPM Farming Community”. Through this collaboration, AeU would be playing the pivotal role of “Malaysia’s 1st IPM University”.

Both parties would work together to roll out the first-ever certification program in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). They would develop online short courses in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) which will be available in Malaysia and 35 countries where AeU campuses are present.

The Memorandum of Understanding between ABS Greentech & Taylor’s University was signed by Mr. R.M. Ravichandar and YBhg. Emeritus Professor Dr. Paraidathathu Thomas A/L P.G. Thomas, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences of Taylor’s University, and witnessed by YBhg. Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat and YBhg. Associate Professor Dr. Phelim Yong Voon Chen, Head of the School of Biosciences of Taylor’s University. The understanding between ABSG and Taylor’s University was to work together to organize webinars, seminars, conferences, campaigns, and roadshows to provide awareness and knowledge about innovative pesticide-free farming, good agricultural practices for MyGAP, and food security. Students of Taylor’s University would learn from ABS Greentech Sdn Bhd about Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and in turn, they would teach B40 farmers the basic skills of IPM farming. ABS Greentech Sdn Bhd as a technology solutions company and pioneer in IPM would provide Taylor’s University with knowledge and support to promote sustainable agriculture through pesticide-free farming.

The Memorandum of Understanding between ABS Greentech & PS Food & Beverage Sdn Bhd was signed by Mr. R.M. Ravichandar and IR Mohd Zain bin Harun, Group Managing Director of PS Food & Beverage Sdn Bhd, and witnessed by YBhg Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat and Mr. Hayat Darus, Chief Executive Director of PS Agro. PS Food & Beverage Sdn Bhd would provide support in upstream (smart farming) and downstream activities, which include processing the vegetables such as kale into vegetable juice, towards healthy drinks. They would share their knowledge and expertise about packaging technology. They would play a key role to assist in the contract growing of pesticide-free vegetables and fruits and turn them into energy drinks under the joint brand of Origina and MyVege.

The Memorandum of Understanding between ABS Greentech & MITEC was signed by Mr. R.M. Ravichandar and Ms. Mala Dorasamy, Chief Executive Officer of MITEC, and witnessed by YBhg Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat and Ms. Cemone Chua, Head of Marketing and Sales of MITEC would be the official venue provider for Asia Smart Farming and Food Security 2023 (ASF’23). MITEC would jointly promote IPM technology by having a miniature IPM demo showcase farm located at MITEC, which will be displayed where people can visit the technology, with hydroponics and the innovative end-to-end solution technologies provided by ABSG. MITEC will collaborate with ABSG to promote IPM knowledge dissemination by promoting the IPM training programs that are delivered by ABSG.

The Memorandum of Understanding between ABS Greentech & My Events International was signed by Mr. R.M. Ravichandar and Ms. Hema Kandy, Group Chief Executive Officer of My Events International, and witnessed by YBhg Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Mamat and YBhg Datin Sabrina Abdullah, Director of My Events International. Both parties signed a 5 years contract whereby they would join forces in organizing Asia Smart Farming & Food Security 2023 (ASF’23), each bringing their own expertise and resources on a Public-Private Partnership Terms and Conditions.

ASF’23 is a professional agriculture platform that includes a conference, expo, business-to-business meetings, and an award ceremony to recognize industry practitioners who have worked to improve the agriculture sector. ASF’23 seeks to provide chances for local agricultural players to enter export markets. It also focuses on bringing all industry participants, manufacturers, investors, business owners, venture capitalists, and other stakeholders together under one roof to exchange knowledge, present their goods, latest equipment, and technology, and government officials to address issues, and share updates, and policies.
