6th ISES 2024: Pioneering Innovation For Clean Energy Solutions

In a significant move that underscores Malaysia’s commitment to sustainable energy, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change, YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, has announced the 6th International Sustainable Energy Summit (ISES) to take place in 2024. The announcement was made at the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), marking another major step in Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to champion sustainable energy on a global scale.

Organised by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) of Malaysia in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC), the 6th ISES 2024 is scheduled for August 20 to 21, 2024, and aims to serve as a catalyst for transformative dialogue and reinforce Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to a greener future.

Marking a significant step forward and promising to be a more expansive and influential gathering, the 6th ISES 2024 will showcase groundbreaking sustainable solutions through insightful conferences, extensive exhibitions, technology showcases, trade programmes, and business matching sessions. These elements will converge to create an immersive experience, positioning the Summit as a pivotal event in the global sustainable energy landscape.

Themed “Accelerating Energy Transition Through Innovation,” the Summit mirrors Malaysia’s dedication to propelling the global energy transition through innovative strategies.

At the soft launch of the 6th ISES 2024, YB Nik Nazmi bin Nik Ahmad, Minister of NRECC, highlighted Malaysia’s role in leading the charge toward sustainable energy. He emphasised the timely relevance of the biennial summit in the context of the global push for sustainable and clean energy solutions. He highlighted the 6th ISES 2024 as a paramount knowledge- exchange platform, fostering innovation and unlocking new possibilities for impactful, future- oriented, and sustainable energy solutions.

“Innovation, a pivotal aspect of advancement and progress, will take center stage in the era of cleaner and more efficient energy solutions. I look forward to increased participation from global experts and industries alike for this year’s summit. The 6th ISES 2024 is a testament to Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to achieving a just and systematic energy transition,” added YB Nik Nazmi.

Echoing this sentiment, YBhg. Dato’ Hamzah, the Organising Chair of the 6th ISES 2024 and CEO of SEDA Malaysia, present during the soft launch, also expressed anticipation for broader participation through regional alliances, building on the success of previous years.

“SEDA Malaysia recognises our crucial role in shaping the future of energy in the country. Through this Summit, we aim to cultivate innovative approaches and technologies, steering us towards achieving the ambitious goal of a 70% installed renewable energy capacity mix by 2050”, emphasised YBhg. Dato’ Hamzah.
