KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, 10 JULY 2026 —— The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia continues to play a leading role in advancing the nation’s sustainable energy agenda and positioning Malaysia as a regional hub for energy transition dialogue, innovation and collaboration. As part of this commitment, the International Sustainable Energy Summit (ISES) 2026 will take place on 11–12 August 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre under the theme “Envisioning Sustainable Energy Beyond Borders”.
Organised by SEDA Malaysia and hosted by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), ISES 2026 is set to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, financial institutions, multilateral organisations, technology providers, researchers and energy practitioners from around the world.
With Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof scheduled to officiate the Summit, anticipation is building around what is set to become one of Malaysia’s most significant sustainable energy gatherings of the year.
This further reinforces the increasing national importance of sustainable energy discussions and reflects Malaysia’s broader ambitions in accelerating energy transition, driving innovation and strengthening international cooperation.
This year’s summit is also expected to deliver greater regional impact through collaborations with international media platforms, aimed at amplifying sustainable energy conversations beyond Malaysia and increasing visibility across Southeast Asia and wider regional markets.
The collaboration reflects growing recognition that conversations surrounding energy transition can no longer remain within individual markets or borders. As sustainability, energy security and technological transformation become increasingly interconnected globally, stronger regional engagement and cross-border conversations have become increasingly important.
Meanwhile, YBhg. Dato’ Hamzah bin Hussin, Chief Executive Officer of SEDA Malaysia and Organising Chair of ISES, said:
“With this year’s theme, Envisioning Sustainable Energy Beyond Borders, our aspiration extends beyond hosting a summit. We want to create a platform where ideas become collaborations, collaborations become investments, and investments contribute towards sustainable growth and long-term impact for the region.”
“Energy transition today is no longer a conversation confined within national borders. Climate challenges, energy security, technological advancement and sustainability concerns increasingly affect countries collectively rather than individually” he added.
ISES has steadily evolved into one of the region’s recognised platforms dedicated to sustainable energy discussions, policy conversations and industry engagement.
The previous edition of ISES attracted participants from 24 countries, involvement from 52 embassies, more than 5,800 registered participants and generated media value exceeding RM10 million, reflecting growing international interest and momentum surrounding Malaysia’s sustainable energy agenda.
Among the anticipated participants are senior government leaders, policymakers, industry experts, international stakeholder, financial institutions and investors and creating opportunities for meaningful discussions and partnerships that could shape future sustainable energy strategies and investments.
As countries continue accelerating efforts towards a lower-carbon future, ISES 2026 aims to serve not only as a platform for dialogue, but as a catalyst for action, partnerships and regional progress.
Registration and partnership opportunities for ISES 2026 are currently open.
