Blueshark Smart Electric Scooters to Power e-Mobility for Klean the World

Blueshark, a subsidiary of Sharkgulf Technologies Group and creator of the world’s most advanced smart electric scooter, today announced a collaboration with Klean the World to power e-mobility for its reverse vending machines operations team. This collaboration will allow Klean the World to provide its employees with sustainable, convenient mobility and to manage their Klean reverse vending machine inventory with the handing over of four Blueshark R1 smart electric scooters at The Curve shopping mall today.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Klean the World to provide our Blueshark R1 smart electric scooters to their operations team,” said Jin Chan, Group COO (ASEAN), Blueshark Ecosystem Sdn Bhd. “Klean the World is a company that shares our values of sustainability and environmental responsibility. Blueshark’s first-to-last mile sustainable e-mobility ecosystem will enable Klean’s employees to reduce their carbon footprint and live healthier lives as they enable greener living for others. This collaboration is a fine example of zero emissions and zero waste ingenuity in practice for the greater good.

Klean the World is a company that provides innovative solutions to the global waste crisis. The company operates reverse vending machines that collect plastic bottles and cans in exchange for rewards.  These materials are then recycled into r-PET (recycled PET) by its recycling partners.

“We are excited to be adding Blueshark e-bikes to our fleet of vehicles,” said Dato’ Nick Boden, CEO and Co-founder of Klean the World. “Our operations team is responsible for collecting and transporting materials from our reverse vending machines to our recycling partners as well as servicing and taking care of our growing network of machines. Integrating e-mobility ties in with our practice of a circular economy, enabling us to electrify our last-mile connectivity and just makes sense given what we do at Klean. Blueshark’s R1 e-motorcycles will help our team do their jobs more efficiently and sustainably while tapping into Blueshark’s Internet of Vehicles for better fleet management.”

Blueshark’s R1 smart electric scooters can access Malaysia’s first commercially available battery swap infrastructure while also being able to recharge from any standard wall socket, making them ideal for urban commuting and fleet operations. With Blueshark’s Internet of Vehicles (IoV) app-to-bike connectivity, data is constantly being streamed between its vehicles and backend servers, allowing fleet customers to monitor and track their vehicles and essential data such as performance metrics, ride history, vehicle condition, performance, and battery range in real time, seamlessly and instantly.

Blueshark recently expanded its battery swapping BlueStation network across the Klang Valley to a total of 15, with 10 new BlueStations installed at select Petronas service stations in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor including in Bangsar, Damansara Jaya, Cheras, Kepong, and Kota Damansara, with plans to expand to possibly 50 locations nationwide by end-2024.

“We are confident that our Blueshark R1 will be a valuable asset to Klean the World,” said Jin. “We are committed to providing our partners with the best possible products and services and we are excited to help Klean the World achieve its mission of reducing waste and making the world a better place as we transform lives through better human mobility, while caring for the planet.”

To provide better access to sustainable urban mobility for all Malaysians, the Blueshark R1 smart electric scooter is offered with a diverse range of ownership options, including outright purchase and attractive subscription packages for the smart electric scooter as well as swappable battery packs for commercial fleet operators as well as individual consumers.
