Technopreneurship

The Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) is pleased to announce the commencement of the “Workshop on Technopreneurship and Industry 4.0 for TVET Educators Towards Global Sustainability and Quality Education.” which will be held from 1 July to 5 July, 2024.

This significant workshop aims to equip Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) educators and policy makers with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead in the ever-evolving landscape of Industry 4.0.

MTDC’s CEO welcomed participants with these words:

“TVET plays a crucial role in equipping the workforce with the necessary skills to advance in a rapidly changing technological environment. As we transition into Industry 4.0, the importance of having a skilled, adaptable workforce cannot be overstated. This 16th series of the workshop aims to align our educational frameworks with the demands of modern industry, ensuring that our educators are at the forefront of this transformation.”

The MTCP Workshop is designed around four key pillars: establishing strong linkages between training institutions and industries (Structure and Relevance), integrating entrepreneurship education into the training curricula (Responsiveness and Inclusion), adapting to new technologies and innovations in the workplace (Innovation and Progress), and enhancing the overall quality and professionalism of TVET educators (Representation and Communication).

Technopreneurship

Through these pillars, the workshop aims to provide exposure to the latest technologies of Industry 4.0, share insights on the talent market landscape related to TVET and technology, highlight the importance of innovation and technologies in driving entrepreneurship, and create a network for TVET educators to exchange knowledge and expertise.

MTDC has always championed innovation and entrepreneurship, as the two elements are identified as key drivers of economic growth. Our involvement and the cumulative participation of more than 500 educators in this workshop since 2012 is a testament to MTDC’s commitment in cultivating a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.

As a key facilitator, MTDC brings its extensive experience in technology development and innovation to the workshop by facilitating speaking sessions featuring industry experts, dialogues and case studies that highlight successful integration of technology in education, and providing platforms for interactive presentations and networking among participants.

Technopreneurship

At MTDC, we recognise that sustainable economic growth is rooted in quality education. This workshop is not just about enhancing technical skills; it is also about shaping future leaders and innovators who will drive economic and social progress. By equipping TVET educators with the latest knowledge and skills, we are investing in a future where innovation and entrepreneurship are the norm.

Over the next five days, 13 participants from The Philippines, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Maldives, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Oman, Bahrain and Cambodia will engage in a series of insightful sessions and activities, including:

  1. Sharing experiences and expectations from international delegations to uphold a global perspective, and an exchange of ideas and best practices that will enhance the overall quality and relevance of TVET education in alignment with global standards.
  2. Presentations on MTDC’s successful initiatives, such as the TechnoTube Programme and the National Technology Innovation Sandbox Programme.
  3. Visits to our Industry 4.0 Experience Hub and sessions led by industry experts highlighting the practical applications of new technologies; and
  4. Sessions featuring successful technopreneurs and innovative programs from various industries, such as aerospace, high manufacturing, and the drone industry.

MTDC’s CEO, Ts. Hj. Mohammad Hazani Hj. Hassan concluded with a message of gratitude and encouragement:

“Again, I would like to express my gratitude to all the participants, speakers, and organisers who have made this workshop possible. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter, more innovative future for TVET education and beyond. Let us seize this opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate, ensuring that we all leave here better equipped to strengthen the next generation of technopreneurs and innovators.”

Technopreneurship

The MTCP Workshop is a significant step towards enhancing the quality of TVET education and ensuring that educators are well-equipped to meet the challenges of the 21st century. MTDC’s involvement underscores its dedication to promoting technological innovation and entrepreneurship, essential components for achieving the SDG goals by 2030.
