Warner Music Malaysia and Watsons Malaysia’s “Futureland” Festival Celebrates Success in Uniting Communities and Showcasing Local Talent

The inaugural “Futureland” Festival, proudly organised by Warner Music Malaysia in partnership with Watsons Malaysia, has set a new standard for live entertainment by celebrating Malaysian music and creativity while connecting fans through powerful performances and unique experiences. 

Held at the historic Stadium Merdeka, recently restored to its former glory, the “Futureland” Festival transformed this iconic venue into a vibrant hub for live music. This historic site, where independence was declared and which has hosted global superstars, now serves as a cornerstone of Malaysia’s music scene. With its revitalised infrastructure, the venue provided the perfect backdrop for unforgettable performances, reigniting its legacy. The festival showcased a stellar lineup of both celebrated and emerging artists, establishing itself as a dynamic platform for local talent.

The “Futureland” Festival brought together attendees from diverse backgrounds for a full day of celebration and shared appreciation of music, culture, and community. Artists such as Hujan, Masdo, Aina Abdul, Bunkface, Ayda Jebat, Amsyar Leee, empty page., FUGŌ, Hael Husaini, Fimie Don, Nadeera, Rizal Rasid, Syamel, TUJU, Wani Kayrie and Zynakal took the stage, showcasing the diverse and vibrant talent of the Malaysian music scene. 

The final act of the 10-hour festival was marked by Hujan, whose electrifying performance left the crowd in awe, closing the event with an energy that perfectly captured the spirit of “Futureland”. Aina Abdul, one of Malaysia’s most celebrated voices, made her debut at a music festival, captivating the audience with her powerful vocals and stage presence, marking a historic moment for both her and the event.

Beyond the performances, the “Futureland” Festival also offered attendees a variety of engaging activities. The Watsons Glow Up Zone was a vibrant highlight, featuring beauty and wellness booths where festival-goers enjoyed exclusive freebies, sampling and engaging experiences. The atmosphere was further elevated with a bustling food village, pop-up stores, and interactive street activities, drawing nearly 20,000 attendees throughout the day. This included fans enjoying the performances, visitors sampling the food village and wellness zones, as well as partners, vendors, and suppliers who contributed to the festival’s success.

The “Futureland” Festival celebrates the rich tapestry of Malaysian music and the incredible connection between artists and fans.
