50 Malaysian Hospitals Named Among World’s Best in 2025

Malaysia just flexed its healthcare muscle.

In the latest World’s Best Hospitals 2025 list by Newsweek, 50 Malaysian hospitals made the cut a solid recognition of how far our healthcare system has come. From major city hubs to regional specialists, these hospitals prove that getting world-class treatment doesn’t always mean going overseas.

Right at the top is Sunway Medical Centre, Subang Jaya. It climbed the global rankings, moving from 233rd last year to 193rd in 2025. That’s no small feat.

How were they picked?

The rankings weren’t random. They were based on:

  1. Recommendations from tens of thousands of doctors and health experts worldwide
  2. Patient experience surveys
  3. Quality checks like cleanliness, safety, and how well hospitals use patient feedback
  4. Their use of PROMs (basically, tracking how patients feel after treatment)

It’s a mix of real voices and real data.

What does this mean for us?

More than just bragging rights, this shines a light on Malaysia as a medical tourism hotspot. We’ve got the skills, the tech, and the care all without the price tag of some overseas hospitals.

So whether you’re a local or planning a trip here, rest assured: Malaysia’s hospitals are no longer under the radar. They’re setting the bar.
