Secret Recipe x Bichi Mao: A Sweet, Cat-tastic Collab That’s Purr-fectly Malaysian

Calling all dessert lovers and cat enthusiasts, this National Day season just got a whole lot cuter. Secret Recipe is teaming up with Malaysia’s beloved cat character, Bichi Mao, for a three-month-long celebration that blends cakes, creativity, and collectibles into one delightful experience.

In conjunction with Merdeka, Malaysia Day, and Secret Recipe’s 28th anniversary, the homegrown cake chain is launching its biggest collaboration of the year from 15 August to 15 November 2025, with exciting exclusives available at selected outlets nationwide.

A Proudly Malaysian Collaboration

“At its core, this campaign celebrates local brands and the joy they bring,” said Patrick Sim, Group CEO of Secret Recipe. “Whether you’re drawn in by the iconic cakes or Bichi Mao’s charm, we want this to be a joyful, uniquely Malaysian experience.”

Bichi Mao, the whimsical creation of Olive Yong and Wee Lim, is no stranger to Malaysians who love relatable, expressive cat doodles. “Secret Recipe was part of our childhood,” said Olive. “So to now design their cake boxes, counter stickers, and collectibles with our characters is a dream come true.”
