IKEA Turns Shopping Into a House Party This September

This September, IKEA Malaysia is flipping the script on weekends with a House Party that’s actually inside their stores. Running from 13 September to 3 October 2025, the celebration is packed with cook-offs, live music, workshops, food fests and family-friendly fun, all designed to prove that staying in can feel just as exciting as a night out.

The line-up is big. Sundays are all about the SMÖL Stage, where DJs and performers like Alicia Amin, Smooth Brain Girly and Julia Amin set the mood with live sets over coffee. Foodies get their turn with the Ultimate Cook-Off, where contestants go head-to-head in IKEA kitchens under the eyes of celebrity judges. There’s also Kitchen Confessions with Maggy Wang, where culture, food and family stories mix in a casual, heart-to-heart setting.

For the hands-on crowd, workshops under SMÖRGÅS for Starters will teach everything from table styling to flower arranging, plus the chance to master an Instagram-worthy meatball sandwich. And speaking of food, mark your calendar for 27 September, when all IKEA stores host a Meatball Fiesta, one hour only, with both classic and plant-based options served alongside festive sides.

The party isn’t just about eating and music. Every weekend, shoppers can strike a pose at the SnackShot Station, leaving with photo-strip memories taken inside IKEA kitchens. Families will also love the chance to meet FABLER the chef bear, who’ll be on site for photos, hugs and kid-friendly fun.

To top it all off, IKEA is rewarding shoppers with an exclusive embroidered collectable patch. Spend RM250 or more in a single receipt on Saturdays or Sundays and you’ll get a shot at redeeming one through a Gachapon machine, limited supply, so first come, first served.

Running across Damansara, Cheras, Tebrau and Batu Kawan, the IKEA House Party blends retail, culture, and community into one big weekend hangout. From live music to food battles, workshops to family fun, it’s less about shopping and more about celebrating the spaces we call home.

Bottom line: IKEA House Party proves that sometimes, the best place to party is right where you live.
