Secret Recipe Serves A True Taste of Home in Every Bowl

As a proud Malaysian from a country renowned for its rich culinary delicacies, what could be more exciting than indulging in one of Malaysia’s most beloved comfort foods? This September, Secret Recipe embarks on a flavourful journey with the launch of “Mee Time”, a delicious new feast for noodle-lovers, paying tribute to the nation’s diverse culinary heritage.

Secret Recipe brings together a variety of “Mee” to their menu, inspired by almost every popular take on the famous dish in the country. The new menu invites diners to experience the rich and local flavours on one table and indulge in a truly unique dining experience.

“Curry and Laksa are more than just noodles; they form a part of our Malaysian culture. Being a local Malaysian homegrown brand, we hope “Mee Time” creates a special moment for our guests to come together to enjoy their me time, while savouring the unique varieties of “Mee” that represent the different corners of Malaysia,” said Evelyn Lee, Head of Marketing at Secret Recipe.

The “Mee Time” series introduces three new signature additions – Sarawak Laksa, Johor Laksa and Penang White Curry Mee. As a signature East Malaysian delicacy, Sarawak Laksa priced at RM23.50 is a spicy coconut-based broth enriched with shrimp, shredded chicken, and omelette strips, providing rich and flavourful textures to the dish. A squeeze of lime and a touch of sambal complete the harmonious balance of savoury and mildly spicy flavours.

Representing Southern Malaysia is Johor Laksa, priced at RM24.50. Unlike the usual soup-based laksa, Johor Laksa comes in a thick, hearty fish-based gravy, simmered with fresh traditional herbs and spices. Served with spaghetti instead, the dish provides a filling and comforting twist with every bite.

For diners craving a classic dish from the Northern region, Penang White Curry Mee (RM24.50) is bathed in a creamy and mild coconut milk curry broth that comes alive with every stir. Topped with shrimp, chicken, sambal sotong and tofu puffs, it is a perfect combination of tastes, especially with a spoonful of deep red chilli paste.

Along with the new addition, other irresistible classics include the rich and fragrant Singapore Laksa (RM22.50), the tangy Penang Asam Laksa with Mackerel (RM23.50) and the luxurious Curry Seafood Laksa (RM24.50), offering a variety of choices to indulge in Malaysia’s beloved comfort food.

To complete the meal set, guests may add on sides including Fish Cake (RM9.90), Deep Fried Wanton (RM11.50), Sampler Trio (RM19.90) and Spiced Chicken Meat Roll (RM11.90). Lastly, pair it with a choice of refreshing sparkling beverages, including Rose Citrus Sparkle, Ume Strawberry Sparkle and Lychee Citrus Sparkle (RM10.80 each).
“Mee Time” is now available at all Secret Recipe outlets, excluding AEON Mall Taiping and Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz. Don’t miss out on this exclusive feast with the new “Mee Time” menu! Tuck in at your nearest Secret Recipe location today, and savour the flavours of Malaysia.
