From Legend to A Legend, Dato’ Lee Chong Wei ‘Grasps’ Michael Owen’s Jersey

Dato’ Lee Chong Wei just unlocked a legendary moment yesterday. From cheering behind a glass screen to sharing the same air, our badminton hero finally meets his football idol, Michael Owen.

Humorously, he couldn’t hide his excitement like a child getting their favourite ice cream. His Facebook post is full of endless gratitude towards Olylife for this iconic meet-up.

Looks like his luck isn’t limited to the badminton court. At Olylife International’s 3rd Anniversary Celebration, fate served up an unexpected hangout with none other than Michael Owen.

Oh, this was far from the typical meet and greet session. As good fortune lies in each of his steps, Dato’ Lee Chong Wei caught the opportunity to exchange timeless treasures with his idol, a racquet and jersey.

Sports may be different, but the passion, discipline, and respect are the same. Grateful for the wonderful conversation, the laughs, and this meaningful exchange.

The Greatest Player in Malaysia’s History, Dato’ Lee Chong Wei

Did you know? Lee Chong Wei held the top spot in the global badminton rankings for over three and a half years!

Sadly, he had to pause his badminton journey to tackle a serious health battle with nose cancer. After all, it was a brave and wise decision, as he rightly chose to prioritize his health over his career.

Which also means more precious time with his beloved family, especially his clever little champs, Kingston, Terrance and Anson.

So next time you’re under the weather, take a page from Lee Chong Wei’s chapter. Your health comes first before diving back into life’s hustle.
