“MAHAMUDRA” Drops First Teaser, The Untold Story of Malaysia’s First Malaysian-Born Tulku

The first teaser trailer for MAHAMUDRA has officially dropped, offering a glimpse into the extraordinary true story of Lhobphon Rinpoche, believed to be the first Malaysian-born Tulku.

Produced by Hundred Years Popcorn Production and presented by The Great Seal Sdn Bhd, the film is directed by Eddie Chow and stars Tan Li Yang.

Filmed across Malaysia and Nepal, including high-altitude locations up to 4,500 metres, the biographical drama traces a Qinghai High Lama’s journey across mountains and oceans to fulfil an ancient vow and awaken Sujian’s true spiritual identity.

Three actors portray Sujian at different stages of life, capturing his transformation across time.

Currently in final post-production, MAHAMUDRA is slated for a tentative July 2026 release.
