MILO® Brings 40,000 Nutritious Breakfast Sets to 200 Schools Nationwide

MILO® is kicking off the new school year with Project Breakfast for School Kids, an initiative in launched in 2021 partnership with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to help primary school children to start their mornings with the nourishment they need to focus, learn and grow. For five consecutive school days, 8,000 students from B40 families across 200 schools nationwide will receive nutritious breakfast sets, enabling them to begin the new term energised.

Across all participating schools, the initiative will deliver a total of 40,000 wholesome breakfast sets, selected from the Ministry of Education’s Rancangan Makanan Tambahan (RMT) menu over the five-day programme, providing students with a nutritious meal paired with MILO® to fuel learning and active participation in class. The programme also features MILO® Senamrobik sessions, and engaging nutrition education talks led by qualified nutritionist, offering students a holistic experience that combines nourishment, movement and education. Together, these activities encourage children to embrace an active lifestyle from a young age and contribute to a positive learning experience across schools.

Project Breakfast for School Kids reflects the collaborative effort between MILO® and the MOE to widen access to nutritious breakfasts for primary school children who need it most. By complementing existing government programmes, the initiative ensures students who are not covered under the Rancangan Makanan Tambahan (RMT) scheme still receive the essential nutritional support they need.

“This initiative reflects the Ministry of Education’s commitment to making sure no child begins their school day hungry and helps create a healthier and more focused learning environment, especially for those from underprivileged communities. It also eases the financial pressures faced by families during the back-to-school period and supports school canteen operators who play a central role in delivering these nutritious meals. We appreciate the collaboration with MILO® in strengthening our shared responsibility to support students’ well-being,” said Zainal Bin Abas, Deputy Director General of Education Malaysia (School Operations Sector), Ministry of Education.

“Nutritious breakfasts are the foundation of a child’s growth, learning and overall well-being. As the new school term begins, we hope this initiative will support students from struggling families meet their nutritional needs and enable thousands of them to begin their school day with energy. This programme reflects MILO®’s ongoing commitment to nurturing healthy habits that last a lifetime,” said Ng Su Yen, Business Executive Officer, MILO®, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad.

Guided by its purpose of nourishing communities and empowering healthier, more active lifestyles, MILO® remains dedicated to fuelling school mornings with purpose and ensuring every child has the energy to learn and shine.
