Sunway Invests RM23 Million to Expand SJK (C) Cheah Fah in Johor

Sunway Group is strengthening Johor’s education landscape with a RM23 million investment in the expansion of SJK (C) Cheah Fah in Sunway City Iskandar Puteri, Johor.

The school, which opened in 2022 with support from the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, is now entering its second phase of development after student enrollment quickly grew to more than 820 students — nearing its original capacity of 1,000.

The expansion will add 12 new classrooms and increase the school’s capacity to 1,500 students, while the canteen will also be upgraded to accommodate the entire student population at once.

According to Sunway, the move reflects the growing demand for quality education as Iskandar Puteri continues to develop into a family-oriented township.

The project will be carried out without disrupting school operations, with completion targeted by the end of the year.

SJK (C) Cheah Fah is also one of eight schools nationwide adopted by Sunway and the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, which have contributed over RM62 million to support the development of Chinese national-type schools across Malaysia.

Beyond infrastructure, the foundation has also awarded more than RM967 million in scholarships and grants, supporting thousands of students nationwide.
