Celebrating World Art Day with Malaysian Rainforest-Inspired Art

Kuala Lumpur, 22 April 2026: To commemorate World Art Day, globally celebrated annually on 15 April, Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur and Tun Razak Exchange have come together to present a one month art exhibition that champions Malaysia’s vibrant creative community.

With the theme Flora & Fauna of the Malaysian Rainforest, the exhibition is part of the TRX Canvas Collective series featuring established and emerging artists in Malaysia.

Rooted in Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur’s “Botanics Beyond Aesthetics” hotel design philosophy and rainforest-led theme, the exhibition draws inspiration from the beauty, textures and stories of Malaysia’s tropical rainforests by extending the narrative beyond its walls in bringing nature and community together at the heart of TRX.

Beginning on 15 April 2026, selected artworks are exhibited along Anjung @ TRX and across the hotel’s design-led spaces, including the Arrival Lobby, The Living Room, and Tuai + Till throughout the month.

“We are ecstatic about this collaboration with TRX City which extends our hotel’s design philosophy and TRX as a premier lifestyle destination.

Through this exciting exhibition, we look to showcase the incredible talent within Malaysia’s creative community and invite artists to reimagine the beauty of our rainforests through their unique perspectives. It is a celebration of local artistry, environmental heritage and the stories to inspire meaningful connections,” shared Paul Cunningham, General Manager of Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur.

“We are honoured to partner with Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur to celebrate Malaysia’s natural treasures in this installation of TRX Canvas Collective. A platform such as this is aimed to highlight artistic talents in Malaysia, by showcasing their finest works to a wider audience.

This district is more than an international financial centre and an economic hub; arts and culture is part of TRX’s identity and is vital for its placemaking and vibrancy,” said Yusmurni Md Yusoff, Chief Strategy Officer TRX City Sdn Bhd.

The campaign shines the spotlight on nurturing local talent and celebrating Malaysian culture through the beauty of art.

A total of 111 artworks were received from the creative community to reimagine Malaysia’s rainforest, with the exhibition transforming public and hospitality spaces into vibrant galleries with both artistic expression and environmental heritage.

Guests are invited to visit the month-long exhibition to appreciate the interpretations of our very own homegrown artists, of Malaysia’s diverse flora and fauna. In support of the local art scene, these artworks will be available for purchase.

Visit the exhibition to see, feel and experience nature, creativity and community at the heart of TRX.
