SunMed Health Living Carnival 2026 Brings the Petaling Community Together in Celebration of Health and Wellbeing

SUNWAY CITY, 27 April 2026– Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City (SMC) successfully hosted SunMed Healthy Living Carnival 2026, drawing over 4,000 participants who joined to take practical steps towards improving their overall health and wellbeing.

Spanning from Tower C to Tower D of the hospital, the Carnival featured a fun and engaging environment where visitors participated in a series of interactive and educational activities such as football, lightning reflex, pickleball, and balance and control challenges, alongside stations dedicated to hearing and cancer health awareness.

In addition, the event also featured a Healthy Living Marketplace featuring a curated selection of wellness, nutrition, fitness and lifestyle brands, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to promoting holistic well-being within the community.

Tan Mei Shin, Senior Director of Business Development and Corporate Communications of SMC, shared,

The Carnival also featured various complimentary health screenings conducted by SMC’s renowned Centres of Excellence, such as body composition analysis, pain assessment, postural blood pressure, memory screening and many more.

SMC is Malaysia’s largest private quaternary hospital that is equipped with 28 Centres of Excellence with more than 300 resident medical consultants, across over 80 medical specialties. Recently, the hospital has been ranked No.1 in Malaysia in Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2026 for the second consecutive year, and No. 1 in Malaysia in Newsweek’s World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2026.

The hospital was also awarded as the Hospital of the Year – Malaysia and the Smart Hospital Initiative of the Year – Malaysia at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026, reaffirming the hospital’s continued excellence in patient safety and patient-centred care.

Furthermore, SMC is Malaysia’s first hospital to be recognised with three major hospital-wide accreditations, including the Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation, The Gold Seal of Approval from the United States of America; the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS); and the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH).

This collaboration reflects a collective effort to enhance community health and enabling more impactful initiatives in the coming future for Malaysians.
