An Intimate Discourse Exploring Fashion, Craftsmanship, And The Modern World Of Khoon Hooi

Kuala Lumpur, 15 May 2026 — Celebrated Malaysian fashion house Khoon Hooi welcomed media and industry partners to In Conversation with Khoon Hooi, an intimate afternoon of dialogue and seasonal presentation held at the brand’s APW Bangsar KL showroom.

Guests were invited to experience a closer look at the Spring/Summer ‘26 collection, Dolce Estate: A Sweet Summer — inspired by the romance of the Italian Riviera and the spirit of la dolce vita. The collection explores fluid silhouettes, texture, movement and contemporary femininity through a Mediterranean-inspired palette of ivories, aquamarines, butter yellow, pomodoro red, and deep navy.

BUSINESS TO BUSINESS
The conversation explored the growth of Khoon Hooi’s wholesale business and international retail presence, from the brand’s early beginnings trading in NYFW to its present-day presence at PFW, alongside continued expansion across the Middle East through newly acquired stockists including www.ounass.com and Harvey Nichols Riyadh. The discussion also touched on future growth opportunities in new markets including Texas, where the brand sees strong similarities with the Middle Eastern market through a shared appreciation for occasionwear.

The session also touched on the importance of international celebrity dressing in Los Angeles, with Khoon Hooi reflecting on how global red carpet appearances at major events such as the Golden Globe Awards, Critics Choice Awards and Vanity Fair Oscar Party — continue to spotlight Malaysian craftsmanship on the international stage.

BUSINESS TO CUSTOMER
Guests were introduced to the brand’s made-to-order experience at APW Bangsar KL, where clients are able to access personalised appointments and fittings.

The conversation also highlighted the global accessibility of www.khoonhooi.com, including the website’s Style Advisor chat feature, which allows customers worldwide to receive styling assistance remotely.

LIFESTYLE / CSR
The session additionally explored Khoon Hooi’s ongoing sustainability and lifestyle initiatives, including the philosophy behind ‘DNA upcycling’ – a process centred around reimagining leftover fabrics and materials into new lifestyle products and accessories.

The brand’s community-focused CSR initiatives with organisations including WWF-Malaysia, The Datai Pledge, Yayasan Chow Kit and Tzu Chi Foundation were also highlighted as part of Khoon Hooi’s broader commitment towards thoughtful and responsible design.

KHOON HOOI GOLD
The conversation also touched on the evolution of Khoon Hooi Gold — the brand’s heritage extension focused on festive collections for the local market.

Particular emphasis was placed on festive dressing traditions surrounding Raya and Chinese New Year, with the Chinoiserie collection continuing to remain a key highlight within the local fashion calendar. The discussion also explored Khoon Hooi’s contemporary interpretation of the traditional kebaya and its continued relevance within modern Malaysian dressing.
