Meta Is Now Charging Users For Facebook, Instagram & WhatsApp Features

Stepping beyond its long-standing ad-driven model, Meta has officially introduced paid subscription plans across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

The move marks a major shift for the tech giant as it looks to diversify its revenue streams while continuing to invest heavily in artificial intelligence (AI).

Instead of relying entirely on advertising, Meta is now offering users the option to stick with the free ad-supported version or pay for additional premium features.Meta’s officially rolling out paid subscription plans across its platforms

• Instagram Plus – $3.99
• WhatsApp Plus – $2.99

Meta has begun rolling out Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus and WhatsApp Plus globally, according to Meta Head of Product Naomi Gleit.

The subscription plans introduce extra features designed to enhance user experience across the platforms, while the core versions of the apps will remain free.

Among the features offered are extended Stories, profile customisation tools, special reaction animations, premium stickers and custom ringtones, depending on the platform.
